Trial Dates NADAC |
NADAC Classes NADAC agility trials offer six different possible classes: The Regular Agility class is the basis for all of the agility classes. The Regular Agility class course tests the dog on all possible types of equipment and qualifying The other five NADAC classes require specialized skills from the dog and handler team. Each of these additional classes do not require that the dog must do every type of agility equipment, but while performing the particular equipment necessary for each class, they must have an increased skill level to fulfill the special skills necessary for each of these classes. The Gamblers class allows for the dog and handler team to choose which obstacles they wish to perform during the class. The handler must process handling skills that are used to choose a course path that contains the obstacles which their dog can perform accurately within a certain amount of time, to obtain the required number of points. The dog is required to accurately perform obstacles while remaining a required distance away from the handler during part of the class. The Jumpers class requires that the dog can perform a series of jumps that demonstrates an efficient jumping style while following the course path at a rapid pace. The dog and handler follow a numbered obstacle course, as set by the judge. The dog will have to demonstrate their ability to turn efficiently, jump cleanly, and stay on course while moving rapidly. The Tunnelers class is a numbered course comprised exclusively of tunnels. The dogs negotiate the course at a high rate of speed while listening intently for the directional control commands from the handler to indicate the next correct tunnel to be performed on the course. The Weavers class is a numbered course comprised of tunnels and sets of weave poles. There are both short sets of weave poles (5-6) and long sets of weave poles (10-12) on the course, intermixed with open tunnels. The dogs must demonstrate their ability to approach weave poles at speed, enter correctly and weave accurately, while staying on course. The Touch N Go class is a numbered course comprised of contact obstacles and tunnels. The obstacles can be a mix of tunnels, teeter totters, A-frames, and dog walks. The dog must demonstrate their ability to correctly perform the contact obstacles while moving at a rapid pace. Agility Obstacles The following are the obstacles allowed at a NADAC agility trial:
